Since 1994 DDS has continuously adapted to the rapidly changing circumstances relating to the Internet. The 10th anniversary, celebrating the founding and history of De Digitale Stad, is already 8
years behind us.
We are still passionately involved in our field of work, the digital world. The last three to four years are again characterized by strong changes in this world. The big players are slowly but surely
expanding and the smaller players increasingly find difficulty to keep up with the rapidly successive developments both technically and financially.
COLLABORATION
Although DDS has experienced a healthy growth in the recent years; we have decided to join forces with a larger Internet Services Provider. Officially we merged on January 1, 2012 with IT-Ernity Internet Services. Our activities will be maintained under the current name DDS. We will continue business as usual, albeit with more strength and stability and the guarantee that the growth we have experienced in recent years, may be continued while maintaining the quality and personal service you may expect from us. BUSINESS INTEGRATION
In the second quarter of 2012 we will integrate some of our business processes. For our customers, we will work hard to make this integration a success, minimizing possible nuisances. The integration of DDS and IT-Ernity will consist of: Merger technical infrastructure
The technical infrastructure of DDS and IT-Ernity will be merged, choosing for the best of both worlds. Although we expect no significant impact from this integration, we will inform you well in advance. Relocation DDS to IT-Ernity branch in Amsterdam
Anticipating a strong future collaboration of the DDS and IT-Ernity staff, it is desirable to combine the business location of DDS with the IT-Ernity branch in Amsterdam. This means that on May 1, 2012 at latest, the staff of DDS will move to the office of IT-Ernity at its data center in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost. The visiting address of DDS will be located at the headquarters of IT-Ernity in Zwolle. In the attachment to this letter you will find our contact details. Streamlining domain name procurement
To ensure efficiency we will also streamline the purchase of domain names through the purchase channels of IT-Ernity. This means that all domain name purchases will be centralized under IT-Ernity's subsidiary "Virtual Registrar". This centralization will entail no consequences other than that in the so called who-is information of a domain name, "Virtual Registrar" will now be stated as registrar. We also expect that the centralized procurement will ultimately allow for domain name registrations at even better prices to offer. New products and services
In recent years we have mainly focused on existing products and services of DDS. Those that we are good at. With this new collaboration, we can use the knowledge, experience and the entire product portfolio that is offered by IT-Ernity. In the second and third quarter of 2012 we will work on a selection of new products and services to offer our customers in due time. That said, we will focus on expanding our DSL services with glass fiber, interactive television and VOIP. In addition, we will expand our hosting services with at least Virtual Office (online workspace), Hosted Exchange, Online Backup, Hosted SharePoint, (virtual) servers and increasingly comprehensive webhosting packages including the possibility of easily installing various applications (such as Joomla, Wordpress, Magento, etc.). We envision being better able to serve as multi-service organization providing in all our customer's wishes, with the usability and support you expect may from us. Expansion support organization
The people of DDS, with their knowledge and service orientated mentality are the driving force behind DDS which is reflected in a high degree of customer satisfaction. An achievement we are proud of. In the short term they will be trained to maintain the earlier mentioned new products and services for DDS customers. In addition, the staff of IT-Ernity will be trained in all product and customer related matters of DDS as to provide our customers with a broad and skilled support team.
